Tapestry by Props
In 2021, Props and Tapestry came together to brew our first beers and discover how the brewing process could provide valuable work opportunities to Props trainees.
This was a huge success, most importantly in challenging perceptions of what adults who have learning disabilities can achieve.
So in 2022, Props started our journey into running our own brewery – Tapestry by Props – with the mission of breaking down barriers in the brewing industry and creating long term meaningful jobs for people who have disabilities.
We now run the popular Taproom in Totterdown, where we partner with local businesses and artists to deliver regular events including makers markets, music and poetry nights, quiz nights and food pop ups.
Every beer we produce has been crafted by our trainees and brewed with the help of Props staff and brewery professionals.
"Paid job is the target. It would be very very useful to earn my own money, knowing that I worked hard for that money."
"I’ve enjoyed biking and gardening. The bike rides are my favourite."
