Embarking on the Sophia Cycles Kōpiko Aotearoa in New Zealand is not just a personal adventure; it’s a testament to the belief that every individual deserves meaningful work and a chance to thrive. I recently lost a friend, and am strikingly aware of how important community action and meaningful occupation is for wellbeing. I’m so impressed by the work that Props do, so I’d love the opportunity to give back a bit, while away.

I am drawn to this journey by conviction that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, should have the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life, and be represented in their community settings. Cycling across the scenic landscapes of New Zealand would be a fun way to fundraise for something that I believe in.

This expedition serves as an exhilarating platform to raise funds for Props, a local charity in Bristol that aligns with me.. Props embodies the spirit of empowerment, providing support and opportunities for people to develop essential skills and engage in meaningful work. I aim to document the ride on social media to showcase what I’m doing, and to spread the word of what Props is doing.

gift aid

Gift Aid is a remarkable initiative for those in the UK, enabling charities to reclaim the tax on your donation. By selecting the Gift Aid option, for every £10 you donate, it could be worth £12.50, at absolutely no extra cost to you! So, if you're a UK taxpayer, the next time you're at the checkout, consider ticking the Gift Aid box. Not only will you be contributing to a noble cause, but you'll also amplify the impact of your generosity. Remember, in order to Gift Aid your donation, you should be paying enough in income tax and/or capital gains tax each year to cover the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations. It's essential to keep charities updated if there are changes in your tax status, name, or address. By embracing Gift Aid, you’re empowering charitable organizations to do even more remarkable work. Let’s make every penny count!
