A copy of Frannie’s Highly commended artwork has been exhibited as part of the Electric Dreams Series.
Coloured ink and Japanese woodblock on washi. Each of the group at PROPS traced images of neurons and synapses and then transferred and carved them into wooden bloks with a choice of coloured inks. Each of the group prepared a background on Japanese paper and printed on top of it with carbon ink.
The certificate was collected by Rowan Shaw and Anne Knight of Studio PROPS on behalf of Frannie, who could not attend.
As part of the Bristol Neuroscience ‘Brain Art’ competition, PROPS were lucky enough to work with a University of Bristol neuroscience student, who came in and brought brain puzzles, showed us models of the brain and helped us make paper ‘brain hats’ to help explain the complex function of this amazing organ! Thanks again to Ellie, for sharing her time and knowledge with us, we really enjoyed the session and learned a lot!
